xD I want your guys' opinions on this because this has been bugging me all day.
I kind of just realized how insignificant the Three really were in the Last Battle. And I mean, that's the WHOLE reason they had their powers. FOR THAT LAST BATTLE.
I mean what, Dovewing only sensed the cats coming once they were RIGHT THERE, and poor Cloudtail had to pay for her lack of alert. Lionblaze got pinned down by Breezepelt and had trouble fighting Redwillow, both of which were not very strong cats. And Firestar... he did what, kill Tigerstar? BIG WHOOP. LionPAW could have easily killed Tigerstar when he had the chance! anndd Jayfeather. How, literally at ALL did he play a part in the Last Hope? HOW? He couldn't even save the one cat that needed him, his sister even!
Andd it wasn't at all bloody. In the Darkest Hour there's all of this bloodshed. Like, there's at least two paragraphs written on Scourge when he was dying, the part with him trying to growl but only having the blood bubble in the back of his throat was excellent! But Firestar? Hit by a tree, or wounds, or smoke, or fire. Brokenstar? He was dandy until Yellowfang walked up and snapped his neck like a stick. Hawkfrost? Same deal. Spotty was the only one who died a traditional throat-ripping death, and it was hardly traditional at all considering she was already dead.
The clans could have fought without the Three VERY easily. I wish that at least that like, the living cats couldn't hurt the dead ones. Like, therefore Lionblaze could use his power to his full potential and protect all of his clanmates. And Jayfeather could speak to his dead counterparts and cooperate like he and Honeyfern did by the Moonpool against Brokenstar and Breezepelt. And Firestar could have... well. I don't know, been ther herocat that he is. Annd Dovewing could have sensed them coming from the sky or wherever, and given her clanmates a thorough walk through of the battle.
And the dark forest recruits like Breezepelt would have had a better fight. Like, then when the clans realize hope is lost if Lionblaze wasn't there and the Dark Forest cats can only get at them and not vice versa, the loyal DF warriors could turn on them and really screw things up.
I don't know, that's just my opinion. What do you guys think?
I liked the first series more because it seemed more realistic..?
Not that some cat receiving omens from a dead ancestor is realistic but..
I just don't like how the three have powers :/ and now suddenly the dead can just walk back up and live again? When did that happen?
Why didn't they just stay at three? Who needs 4. I mean 3's a crowd but 4's..... An even bigger crowd.
Firestar's death sucked crocodile nipples. I thought that I was going to cry
like, a lot.
But instead I laughed. I dunno, it was just funny to me.
And also, Bramblestar, why did you choose Squirrelflight?
The plotline was absolutely horrible and bland. I reread the stupid book, praying it was my fault it was so...... ugh. For everyone who dies, its basically like this: "IMMA FIRIN MA LAZER! BLAAAAARGH!"
The deaths, on the other hand, is the thing i really hate. They die simply, like when Bramble (hate him) killed Hawk in The New Prophecy, there was this epic
speech. But in the Last Hope, Brambles all like "get off her!" *jumps and snaps neck* "har har" and there was no battle between them and no Hawk saying at least "come on bro, you wouldnt kill your own brother twice would you"? Just jump, snap, and har har.
The three had practically no purpose. They should have done basically what you said, or what some of the wonderful comments on here say. Maybe the Three would have to combine their powers to defeat Brokenstar or something, not another jump, snap, and har har scene.
Anyway, glad i got that out, and thanks for your opinion. The original series will always be my favorite.
Even though nobody else gives a damn about that part, i do. Come on, no details like in the original arc, no speech. Yellowfang would at least say "im so sorry, my son" or SOMETHING.
Glad i got that out, and im glad im not the only one who thinks that on here
Yeah, the main problem with this book for me was it was slightly boring and soulless, and this is Warriors we are talking about, my favorite book series...I had loved it because of all the heart and development that went into it. XD
On the other hand, Dawn of the Clans is not a continuation to The Last Hope. Its about the beginning of the Clans. Hopefully its good....
